Park Has Become A Drug Haven
PARK HAS BECOME A DRUG HAVEN
Editor:
Who is using the facilities of Linwood Park? You guessed it. The drug dealers, addicts and hookers.
Is this Langley's safe injection site? Few residents of this area can enjoy the park without running into these people.
I express my concern, as school has been in session for two days and I observed drug deals going on in the washroom at Linwood Park. This park is not safe for the children who attend school six blocks away and walk to and from home to attend school along these streets.
There are children in the condos, apartments, houses and all the new townhouses being built in this area of 56 Avenue, Michaud Crescent and 201A Street. Construction of housing is going on all over, and families with children will be and are moving into this area.
Michaud Crescent has become a drug highway with the drug dealers peddling, literally, their drugs on their bikes up and down the streets without fear of being caught.Drug deals are taking place in parking lots, in the park and under the well-known willow tree on 201A Street.
There is a Block Watch in this area, however, we need help from the City and police to enforce the law regarding drug dealers in our community. We need to make the streets safe for our children.
